"Home never looked this good, though Suzye and Barry Lawson make their guests feel like family at Villa Alegre. Their seven guest rooms and villas are as individualist as the owners, who decorated each room with treasures gathered during their travels. The Guatemala suite is filled with vivid tapestries; the pale blue-and-white California room has a patio with ocean view. Some villas are large enough for families, rooms with shared bath are perfect for solo travelers, and some rooms are fully equipped for disabled travelers (an unusual and thoughtful touch). Guests gather in the living room and select books and games from the exyensive library, lounge on the lawns beside the pool. or stroll over the beach, where hermit crabs and starfish hide in the tide pools. Breakfast(included in the expensive rate) is a lavish affair, and guests are encouraged to help themselves to cool drinks from the "fridge in the main kitchen. The Lawsons keep a huge notebook filled with restaurant menus, tour brochures and other information on the area, and are eager and enthusiastic activity directors."
